At News Media Alliance, we’re just a few days away from our annual mediaXchange conference. This year’s theme is focused on the Futures of News.
The News Media Alliance announced the full speaker line-up at mediaXchange 2017, taking place April 30 – May 3, 2017 in New Orleans. The event draws hundreds of news media professionals each year to hear from top thought leaders from inside and outside the industry.
The News Media Alliance today announced the launch of a national ‘Support Real News’ campaign focused on combatting the increasing prevalence of fake news. The campaign, shines a light on the importance of real news produced by respected, trusted news organizations employing high-quality, investigative journalists.
The cross-ownership ban also prevents newspapers from receiving the investment they need to be able to compete against the social media giants, who are free to invest, acquire and merge at will.
2016 was the year of “fake news.” But as inundated as we were with fake news, it is not a new thing.
