The Fly-In is being held to advocate for the importance of quality journalistic and creative content and the need for legislative action in the United States.
Legislation around the world – including Europe, Australia and Canada – that requires Big Tech platforms such as Google and Meta to pay news publishers fairly for use of their valuable content is working. In the U.S., the Journalism Competition & Preservation Act (JCPA) would allow local news companies to negotiate with Big Tech to receive fair compensation for use of their content.
