The Alliance applauds the House Judiciary Committee on the markup of the bi-partisan Protect Reporters from Exploitative State Spying Act, or the “PRESS Act,” which would establish reasonable ground rules for when the government can obtain confidential source information from the media and their third-party service providers.
The News Media Alliance applauds House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairwoman Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY) for championing journalists by ensuring a news media carveout to H.R. 7185, the Federal Contracting for Peace and Security Act.
