Congressmen Robert B. Aderholt (R-AL) and Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) introduced the Deliver for Democracy Act (H.R. 9078) in the U.S. House of Representatives on July 23. The bill is identical to the Senate version (S. 4378) introduced by Senators Peter Welch (D-VT) and Mike Rounds (R-SD) on May 21.
The brief, led by RCFP, urges the Court of Appeals to affirm the decision to require the disclosure of unsubstantiated and pre-June 2020 complaints.
The new rule applies to news websites, and will become applicable immediately. The rule is based on the same application as the pre-existing group registration option for newspapers – which the Alliance played an important role in developing prior to its adoption in 2018 – including the registration fee.
