The News/Media Alliance recently became a member of Keep Us Posted, a stakeholder and consumer organization dedicated to a more reliable and affordable Postal Service, specifically focused on market dominant mail.
On September 13 the News/Media Alliance joined the Reporters Committee’s amicus letter to the General Counsel of the Department of Defense advocating for access to court records that were improperly sealed.
On September 16, the News/Media Alliance joined the Reporters Committee’s amicus brief arguing for the court to preserve fees shifting provisions for prevailing parties in public records laws.
On September 19, the News/Media Alliance joined the Reporters Committee amicus brief advocating for open records and public access.
On September 26, the News/Media Alliance filed comments with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in its proceeding about Endorsement Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.
On August 26, the Alliance signed on to the Reporters Committee amicus brief advocating for increased government transparency and disclosure requirements under FOIA.
In August, the Alliance joined the Reporters Committee’s amicus letter in support of journalist April Ehrlich.
On August 29, the Alliance joined the Reporters Committee’s amicus brief supporting the proper interpretation of Washington’s new anti-SLAPP law which was based off the Uniform Law Commission’s model anti-SLAPP law UPEPA.
On August 23, the News/Media Alliance filed comments with the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) in response to its notice of proposed rulemaking with regards to the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
On July 29, the Alliance signed on to the Reporters Committee’s amicus brief arguing for strong anti-SLAPP protections.
