Statement: UK Cairncross Review on Sustainability of High-Quality Journalism
Today, the News Media Alliance filed comments with the Cairncross Review on the sustainability of high-quality journalism in the United Kingdom. The submission outlines the media landscape in the United States and discusses ways of addressing the imbalance between online platforms and news organizations that threatens high-quality journalism. The independent Review, led by Dame Frances Cairncross, was commissioned by the UK Government in February 2018. The Review is expected to publish its report in early-2019.
