News/Media Alliance and America’s Newspapers Announce New Partnership to Strengthen News Industry

Arlington, VA – The News/Media Alliance (NMA), the leading industry trade association representing news, magazine, and digital media organizations, and America’s Newspapers (AN), the leading trade association serving local newspapers, today announced the launch of a new partnership designed to strengthen collaboration across the news publishing industry and provide additional benefits to their members.

As part of this partnership, eligible America’s Newspapers members may now join the News/Media Alliance as new members at a preferential rate, and may participate in NMA’s AI licensing program, which offers members the opportunity to monetize their content through opt-in collective licenses negotiated by the News/Media Alliance.

Eligible News/Media Alliance members will now receive a 50% discount for America’s Newspapers annual Mega-Conference, which brings together the industry’s top executives and thought leaders to dig into the strategies, technologies, and market forces shaping the future of news and media. The conference this year will take place March 30 – April 1, in Austin, Texas.

Danielle Coffey, President and CEO of the News/Media Alliance, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for our industry to come closer together. We’ve worked with America’s Newspapers for years, and we are thrilled about the opportunity to grow our partnership in a more formal way. We are stronger together than the sum of our parts, and we look forward to working collaboratively to build a stronger, more sustainable future for journalism and all of our members.”

Dean Ridings, President and CEO of America’s Newspapers, said, “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring the long-term sustainability of journalism. At a time of rapid transformation in media, collaboration is not optional; it is essential. Together, we can amplify the voice of publishers and accelerate solutions that strengthen trusted journalism in communities across the country. Our Mega-Conference has long served as a forum for candid dialogue and forward-looking strategy among industry leaders. We are pleased to extend meaningful access to News/Media Alliance members and further integrate our communities in ways that deliver tangible business value.”
