In response to a request for input regarding the U.S. Postal Service’s (USPS) Study on Market-Dominant Rate Increases, the MPA submitted an issuance of information regarding the size and timing of market-dominant rate increases authorized by the Commission following the ten-year review.
On May 26, 2022, the Commission invited stakeholder consultation regarding its Congressionally required study of Postal Service rate increases. The study is to address, among other factors, whether the Commission’s revised regulations authorizing these rate increases properly accounted for the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, including $10 billion of emergency funding provided to the Postal Service.
