âIt was a very positive announcement by Campbell Brown on subscriptions through Facebook. Â First, we have to appreciate that they worked out a deal with Apple that gives publishers 100% of the subscription revenue through iOS. Â Second, and almost as important, was the reduction in the free article limit to 5. Â We still think it should be up to the publishers to determine whether (and how much) content to give away for a free, but this is a lot better than previous proposals. Â Now we have to see if their new subscription function actually drives revenue.â
