The News/Media Alliance is asking members to run the following ads September 19- 26, as part of a new ad campaign calling on readers to contact their members of Congress and ask them to co-sponsor the Stealth Bot Prohibition Act.
The Stealth Bot Prohibition Act, which requires bad bots to identify themselves, provides a simple, common-sense transparency-focused solution to the flood of bad bots overloading news websites and stealing publisher content. This bill has bipartisan support, but we need to put additional pressure on members of Congress to co-sponsor this legislation and make it a priority.
Participating in this ad campaign is voluntary, and we’re offering print and digital variations in different sizes so our members have flexibility to choose the format that you feel best fits your publications. Members are welcomed to continue running ads throughout the end of September and through the month of October.
