FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 18, 2018

Arlington, Va. – The News Media Alliance today announced the recipients of its third annual Rising Star awards.

The program provides an opportunity to showcase the talent and knowledge that young professionals bring to news media companies. This year, we honor reporters, marketers, software developers and more. These Rising Stars provide an optimistic look for the future of news media.

“Our Rising Star program is one of my favorites. Now in the third year, the talent is better than ever before,” said David Chavern, President and CEO of the Alliance. “It is amazing what these young people have accomplished so early in their careers. They will secure the future of journalism and define how news is done for the next generation.”

The below individuals were selected from an impressive group of nominees as the recipients of this year’s Rising Star Awards. A panel of Alliance staff members judged each nominee on the value of the nominee’s contributions to his or her company and to the industry. Recipients had to be under the age of 30 as of April 2, 2018 to be considered for the award. The Alliance will be highlighting the work of these exceptional individuals on its website over the next several months.
