Canada and Mexico Tariffs Delayed Until April 2

President Trump agreed to tariff exemptions on March 6 for imports from Canada and Mexico that are compliant with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), negotiated in the first Trump Administration. These products will not be subject to the 25% tariffs until April 2. Through multiple sources, we have confirmed that newsprint is covered under this agreement. Trump signed two amendments to the tariff orders he issued for Mexico and Canada earlier this week. The modifications shall be effective with respect to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern standard time on March 7. Please see the attached Fact Sheet from the White House.
