Bounce rates, page views, impressions, engagements—the list of new metrics to measure goes on and on. Publishers rush to measure and extrapolate each new piece of data, but an important piece of the puzzle has always been missing:

How is the competition doing?

Until this point, there has been no reliable way to benchmark the industry and compare publications’ digital metrics across markets and sizes.

But for Alliance members, we’ve made that a bit easier (and free!).

metricsXchange, our newest data platform, allows real time comparison between markets and publications. It provides insights to the industry’s digital business efforts. This platform was created with help from Mather Economics to support the industry. It was designed specifically for the publishing industry and collects advertising revenue and site traffic data through lite tags on member sites. The results are updated in real time.

Members will be able to view revenue, impressions and average CMP to anonymous peer data. Additionally, data will be available on visitors, page views, time on page, referral sources and power users. Quarterly reports will be generated to measure industry benchmarks and best practices.
